Born on October 24th in 1984, Drake’s full name is Aubrey Drake Graham. His mom is a Jewish Canadian who was born to a family of Holocaust survivors, and his dad was a black American from Memphis. The family moved to Canada when Drake was one year old because his dad got a job in Toronto as a drummer for the rock band The Young Canadians.

Though the singer planned to release his debut album ‘Thank Me Later’ in 2008, the release date was pushed back to 2010. In its first week, the album sold more than 447,000 copies and he did a free performance in New York City at the South Street Seaport for a free concert.

His July singles included ‘Back to Back’, ‘Charged Up’, ‘Hotline Bling’, and ‘Right Hand’.
It became his most commercially successful album and achieved double platinum status in the US. He received his second and third Grammy Awards at that year’s ceremony, winning Best Rap/Sung Performance and Best Rap Song.
‘More Life’ sold more than 505,000 units in its first week, setting streaming records with more than 89.9 million streams on Apple Music alone. In 2017, the album won thirteen Billboard Music Awards, breaking records for the most wins in one show.
It sold 749,000 album equivalents in its first week of sales after breaking streaming records with 132.45 million streams on Spotify and 170 million on Apple Music.
