Larry David was born Lawrence Gene David on the 2nd of July 1947 in Brooklyn, New York, in the United States of America. He was raised alongside his brother and only sibling, Ken David, otherwise, Mortimer Julius “Morty” David and Rose David are the names of his parents.

Side by side, his father, Mortimer Julius “Morty” David, worked as a men’s clothing manufacturer during the time he was raised. On the other hand, his mother worked as a housewife while his father provided for the family. Grew up with an only sibling (older brother), Ken David, Larry’s ancestry is traced back to Germany.

Accordingly, his father’s ancestors moved from Germany to the United States of America during the 19th century. In contrast, his mother Rose David’s family is of Polish-Jewish origin, traced back to Ternopil, now in Ukraine. Side note, his German-Jewish paternal great-grandfather from Mobile, Alabama, was one of the fighters who fought for the Confederacy during the renowned Civil War.

Larry David started developing an interest in the entertainment industry during his time at the University of Maryland, College Park, and well, he realized that being himself could make people laugh, so he started harnessing his talent.

Serving in the United States Army Reserve between 1970 and 1975, Lawrence Gene David started his career in the American entertainment industry in 1977 at the age of 30. A now-renowned and multiple-time-award-winning film actor and comedian, Larry once worked as a historian, clerk, and driver.

As a television personality, he hosted “Fridays,” a weekly comedy show aired on the ABC TV network between 1982 and 1984. Launched “Seinfeld” in 1989 with his friend Jerry Seinfeld, Larry worked as a writer for the NBC channel show, “Saturday Night Live,” between 1984 and 1985.
