Let it Shine soundtrack debuted at number 29 on the US Billboard 200. It has also charted at number 22 on the US Digital Albums chart 3 on the US Rap Albums chart, number 2 on the US Top Soundtracks chart and topped the US Kid Albums chart. On June 29, 2012, the soundtrack topped the US Rap Albums chart at 1.
Let It Shine is a 2012 musical television film that premiered on Disney Channel. It features an ensemble cast of Tyler James Williams, Coco Jones, Trevor Jackson and Brandon Mychal Smith. The film follows a shy, talented rapper and musician who pens romantic hip-hop verses only to stand idly by as they’re delivered to the girl of his dreams by a proxy, his best friend, in a retelling of Edmond Rostand’s 1897 play Cyrano de Bergerac. Paul Hoen directed the film and Erik Daniel and Don D. Scott wrote it.
