Charles Soludo was born on July 28, 1960. He is a Nigerian economist, academist and a politician who currently serves as the Governor of Anambra State. He assumed office March 17, 2022. He hails from Isuofia town in Anambra State and has a First Class degree, Masters degree and PhD in Economics from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
He was a professor of economics and he has worked with international institutions like the IMF, World Bank, and UNDP and lots more. He used to serve as the Chief Economic Adviser to the then President, His excellency, Olusegun Obasanjo and was at the same time the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria at that time (2004 to 2009) where he spearheaded major banking reforms.
He however, joined the political scene in 2009, when he contested for the office of the governor but didn’t win. Thereafter, he won elections while under the APGA party in 2021. He is happily married to Mrs. Nonye Frances Soludo and their union is blessed with six children.
