Rolie, born on September 21, 1999, in Accra, Ghana, to Ghanaian parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nyarko, grew up in Accra with his siblings. He comes from Kumasi in the Ashanti Region. Rolie is 25 years old.

Dance Journey

Although Champion Rolie knew how to dance from a young age, growing up he wanted to become a footballer rather than a dancer. In high school, he was known as both a footballer and a dancer, but his concentration was on football.

When Rolie was in senior high school, he had the opportunity to try out for the football team. After a conversation with his parents, especially his father, who wanted him to concentrate on studying before pursuing a career in football, Rolie decided to heed his father’s advice and devote more time to his schoolwork.
However, in high school, he began to perform more frequently, holding an inter-house dance competition in 2014 and securing third place. That year he also represented his school at the Western Region Dance Festival, held at Takoradi Technical University, where their school secured second place. After he graduated from high school, he continued to dance and started taking dance classes, where he could learn proper techniques and form. One of the classes he enrolled in was Incredible Zigi’s dance class, where he was every bit a novice (almost two left feet) and struggled, even being asked a couple of times to repeat a few steps until he nailed them.
But at some point Zigi pauses in the dance class, and not long after, when Champion is at home making and posting dance videos on his status, one of Champion’s female friends who he met during Zigi’s dance class, Liya, who has become a DWP member, tells him about another dance class that Dancegod Lloyd is organizing.

Rolie joined Dancegod Lloyd’s class, and in the dance class, Dancegod Lloyd told him and the others that they were planning to establish a dance academy, which they would call the DWP Academy. He told them that if they were interested, they could join. And that was how Rolie joined the Academy in 2017 and commenced his professional dance career.

Roland Kwabena Frimpong Nyarko is also into music and has a song as a member of DWP Academy called “Eheati.”

Philanthropy

As someone who enjoys giving, Rolie established his foundation during a live session on TikTok on December 5, 2023. The foundation called the Champion Rolie Foundation is focused on helping street children achieve a better future. On December 23, 2023, the founder of the Champion Rolie Foundation fed 500 street children in Accra, Ghana. In March 2024, the foundation held medical screenings for street children. Rolie has also made other donations to street children in Accra, including the donation of footwear.
