Chief Accountant Needed At Accra
An international furniture supply and retail chain is looking for an experienced Chief Accountant to employ immediately.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Perform financial analysis and reporting to management as needed.
- Perform month-end accounting activities such as reconciliations and journal entries.
- Coordinate with the finance team to complete assigned accounting tasks within deadlines.
- Evaluate computerized accounting systems and provide recommendations to IT team for performance improvements.
- Responsible for the preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial
- position forecasts, annual budgets, and reports required by regulatory agencies.
- Supervision of employees performing financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, payroll, and budgeting.
- Coordination of company accounts/financial audits.
- Assist CFO in relationship management with banks, coordination for setting up credit lines and procurement financing.
- Responsible for Inventory & Fixed Asset Counts.
- Supervising and controlling the receiving of cash, cheques, and deposit funds.
- Reviewing purchase orders, claims and contracts, controlling the requisitions process and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
- Assist CFO in implementation and management of new ERP (AX Dynamics) software.
- Analyze financial discrepancies and recommend effective resolutions.
- Monitor expenditures, analyze revenues and determine budget variances and report the same to management.
- Respond to accounting inquiries from management in a timely fashion.
- Provide guidance to other Accountants when needed.
- Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities for assigned accounts.
- Assist in auditing activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentation.
- Monitor and record financial transactions according to company policies and regulations.
- Review and recommend changes to existing accounting procedures.
- Coordination of all Company activities with the Ghana Revenue Authority.
- Carry out tax and social declarations: VAT, installments, etc.;
- Assistance of Payroll preparation and tax calculation with the HR Manager.
- Maintain and animate the general and/or analytical accounting, and control the consistency of the accounting documents produced.
- Enter invoices, bank statements, checks, …;
- Letters to supplier or customer accounts.
- Make payments and/or collections.
- Participate in interim closings and the preparation of the annual balance sheet.
- Carry out the various internal or external reminders for updating the accounts.
Required Skills
- A minimum of BSc in Accounting, Finance or a relevant degree
- Extensive corporate and personal tax experience
- Expertise working with Quickbooks and financial statements
- Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Office and databases
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
- Excellent communication and people skills
