US-based Nigerian gospel artist Dare David has received nominations for the forthcoming Stellar Awards 2022.  Dare received honours for “Contemporary Male Artist of the Year” and “Praise and Worship Album of the Year” for his live project “The Name of Jesus.”

“The Name of Jesus” is a 10-track live album that was released in May 2021. The album features popular artists including Ray Robinson, Osy Berry, Netta Byrd, and Autumn Vaughn. The project produced by Dare David and BJ Henry, co-produced by William Deah and Manu Opery, was recorded live in Dallas, TX.

Popular American singing groups Maverick City Music and Elevation Worship were awarded a GRAMMY Award at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards Event which was held yesterday. This wonderful album, Old Church Basement was released by the singing group earlier last year and has been nominated for several awards including this year’s GRAMMY.

The group were so excited at this amazing feat Chandler Moore shared on stage saying:

We just want to thank God. Maverick city was a space created by our founders Tony Brown and JJ Jonathan  for those who are marginalized unheard rejected in this space to be heard and to have a space all of us on this stage represent that.

Chris Brown added saying:

I will never forget that little basement where this beautifully wild season between our two groups began and this has been the most amazing thing watching our two ministries create something together that we could have never created separately, so we love you guys. I want to shout out Pastor Stephen for being an incredible visionary dreamer unbelievable songwriter, Tony Brown thank you for leading the charge wherever you are this is amazing thank you.

The singing group also had their song “Jireh” nominated for the best contemporary song of the year, which they presented live at the event.

Popular American gospel singer CeCe Winans has just received her 12th GRAMMY Award as she received 3 different awards at the 64th annual GRAMMY Awards Event. She was awarded the Best Gospel Performance/song, the Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song and the Best Gospel Album.

Her song “Never Lost” was the winner for the best gospel performance/song, “Believe for it” was the winner for the Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/song and her album “Believe for it ” was awarded as the best gospel album.

Following her awards tonight, Cece Winans now holds a record of 12 GRAMMY Awards and 31 GRAMMY Nominations, the highest ever from any gospel artist. She also holds 28 GMA Dove Awards, 16 Stellar Awards, 7 NAACP Image Awards, along with many other awards and honors to her credit.

The 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards Event has just concluded. The Grammy is considered one of the four major annual American entertainment awards, along with the Academy Awards (for film achievements), the Emmy Awards (for television achievements), and the Tony Awards (for theatre achievements).

The event recorded a number of Christian music artists winning awards and getting nominations in the various “Gospel Music” categories. The Christian awards categories include:

• Best Gospel Performance/song
• Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/song
• Best Contemporary Christian Music Album
• Best Gospel Album
• Bestroots Gospel Album

The winner for the Best Gospel Performance/song was Never Lost by CeCe Winans. Other Nominations for this category include “Voice of God” by Dante Bowe featuring Steffany Gretzinger and Chandler Moore, “Joyful” by Dante Bowe, Help” by Anthony Brown & Group Therapy, and “Wait on You” by Elevation Worship and Maverick City Music.

For the Category of the  Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/song, the winner was “Believe for it” by Cece Winans. Other Nominations for this category were  “We Win” by Kirk Franklin and Lil Baby,” Hold Us Together” (Hope Mix) by H.E.R. and Tauren Wells and “Man of Your Word” and Chandler Moore and KJ Scriven.

The Best Contemporary Christian Music Album went to “Old Church Basement” by Maverick City Music & Elevation Worship, other nominees were “No Stranger” by Natalie Grant, “Citizen of Heaven (Live)” by Tauren Wells.

The award for the Best Gospel Album went to “Believe for It” by Cece Winans. Other nominees were “Changing Your Story” by Jakaylan Carr, “Royalty: Live At The Ryman” by Tasha Cobbs Leonard, “Jubilee: Juneteenth Edition” by Maverick City Music, “Jonny X Mali Live in LA” by Jonathan McReynolds and Mali music.

The Award for the Best Roots Gospel Album went to “My Saviour” by Carrie Underwood. Other nominees were “Alone With My Faith” by Harry Connick Jr, “That’s Gospel, Brother” by Gaither Vocal Band, “Keeping On” by Ernie Hasse & Signature Sound, and “Song For The Times” by The Isaacs.

Cece Winans bagged a total of 3 awards tonight, and she expressed joy and her heartfelt gratitude to the Lord Almighty and everyone else who made this possible

The Reach4Christ movement brought their campus Invasion to the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria yesterday on the 5th of February 2022. The event which was tagged “Light Up FUTA” did not just begin from here but it has been an ongoing programme where the team have been visiting various campuses around Nigeria. The ministers present include Temitayo Adubi, Sunmisola Agbebi, Pastor Ibukun Onitade and Minister Odunayo Adebayo.

The event was a glorious one that was filled with wonderful ministrations from the guest artists, healings and blessings, and a powerful sermon by Pastor Ibukun Onitade. There was also a soul-lifting praise session by the praise team where the students danced and gave praises to the Lord Almighty.

The Deeper Christian Life Ministry (aka Deeper life Bible Church) headed by Pastor William F. Kumuyi hosted a five-day youth convention tagged “IMPACT 2022“. The event is the first of its kind and is designed to address fundamental issues affecting teenagers, campus students and young adults. The guest speakers invited include Ibukun Awosika, Iyinoluwa Aboyeji and music minister Dunsin Oyekan.

In the course of the event, Dunsin Oyekan was opportune to minister to the vibrant youth. It was a glorious moment as He led the crowd into an intense worship session and God was glorified.

Speaking about the event, the general superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry had this to say:

“We want to let the young people know that what others have done at their age, they also can do. I want the youth to know that no matter what they have not done, they should take this week as a new beginning in their lives.”

“People who say we are lowering standards do not know the people we are inviting. They judge them by the little they know. And some of them have not taken the effort to go to the web to check their profile and know who they are. May be, they just saw the picture and said this is not my kind of person and said we are lowering standards. We will love these people to come here and see for themselves.”

“Sadly, many of them have fallen under the spell of social media influencers, who are not always good role models. That is where this timely intervention, the five-day programme, represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to engage the youth.

Passion Conference 2022 organized by Passion City Church was held at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, GA. The Event was hosted from the 2nd to 3rd of January with a total attendance of over 60,000 young people.
