Job Vacancy For Senior Superintendent – Underground Production

Job Descriptions

• The purpose of the Senior Superintendent – UG Production is to have extensive experience working in an underground production environment and will have demonstrated how to have successfully led teams to safely deliver to plan. It is anticipated that you hold a current Underground Supervisor’s Certificate and associated competencies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

• Frontline leadership and engagement with stakeholders
• Ensuring safe and productive work practices are executed
• Managing the performance, behaviour and development of your teams
• Ensuring planning and scheduling is completed and production targets are achieved in accordance with business expectations
• Organises and provides guidance to Mine Captains in the short term and long term production profile
• Conducts daily work planning meetings / toolbox meetings
• Manage operational spend with full accountability for any variance to the budget
• Workforce planning for business continuity
• Ensure all safety compliance is to standards and regulations

Qualification Required & Experience

• Leadership skills including the ability to manage change, influence and motivate
• Understanding of relevant legislation and regulatory framework
• Excellent cost management skills
• Contractor management experience
• Culturally sensitive
• Underground development experience in a leadership role
• Shift Supervisor’s Ticket of Competency
• Experience working as an expatriate will be highly regarded
• In-depth and extensive knowledge and application of contemporary underground mining practices to maximise safety and productivity
• Ability and willingness to transfer/mentor their skills & knowledge to African personnel
• All valid and relevant qualifications, certificates and licences
• Minimum 10 years’ underground mining experience including a minimum 5 years’ shift supervision
• Demonstrated experience in driving production focus within crews
• Continuously improve underground operations to ensure minimal time loss between activities
• Experience in budget development and cost management across maintenance and project functions
• Contractor/vendor management
• Previous experience working in Africa highly desirable
• Extensive Underground experience and Supervisor ticket
• All relevant operator licenses

This is a renewable fixed term position. The onsite camp facilities at Wassa include fully serviced air-conditioned rooms, dining halls, sports bar convenience store, gym and sporting facilities, swimming pool and a fully equipped medical Center. Job Vacancy For Senior Short Term Planning Engineer

Job Descriptions

• The Senior Short Term Planning Engineer will be responsible for delivering the 12-weekly rolling and the quarterly mine plan, and supervise the short-term weekly scheduling in accordance with the Business Plan and Life of Mine (LOM) resource/ reserve pipeline.

Qualification Required & Experience

• Must have a minimum of a Degree in Mining Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
• Mine Foreman Certificate of Competency from the Minerals Commission is an added advantage;
• Must have a minimum of five (5) years working experience in a similar position in an underground mining environment;
• Must have in-depth knowledge of the Ghana Mining Regulation LI2182, LI2177 and other related regulations
• Must have a valid first aid certificate.

SKILL

• Proficient in Deswik, Surpac, GIS, GEOVIA, AutoCAD, Deswik scheduling and other scheduling software;
• Computer literacy skills; Microsoft Office suite (word, excel and power point) and other related applications.
• In-depth understanding and competency in Mine planning;
• Must have experience in ventilation and drill and blast engineering;
• Ability to understand underground plan and design;
• Proficient in report writing and data analysis;
• Strong data management and presentation skills;
• Adept at working safely and efficiently under pressure;
• Project management skills.
