Mason Greenwood To Leave Man Utd

In February, the Crown Prosecution Service decided to drop its case against Mason Greenwood. Following this development, Manchester United revealed that they had come to a mutual agreement with the forward.

As a result, it was decided that Greenwood would continue his career elsewhere, moving away from Old Trafford. Despite news that Greenwood would be back in the team, the club announced that a mutual decision had been reached for the forward to continue his career elsewhere.

Manchester United has issued a statement confirming Mason Greenwood’s departure from the club subsequent to an internal inquiry into the allegations of attempted rape, controlling and coercive behavior, and assault that were made against him.

In a statement, the club said:

“All those involved, including Mason, recognise the difficulties with him recommencing his career at Manchester United. It has therefore been mutually agreed that it would be most appropriate for him to do so away from Old Trafford, and we will now work with Mason to achieve that outcome.”

Addressing the situation, Richard Arnold, the CEO of Manchester United, expressed in an official statement that the reintegration of Greenwood into the first team had been meticulously contemplated and organized. This follows recent reports that the club’s senior personnel had been informed about the potential comeback of the forward earlier this month.

Having emerged from Manchester United’s youth academy, Greenwood’s most recent appearance for the club dates back to January 2022. His international record includes a solitary senior cap for England, earned during the Nations League fixture against Iceland in September 2020.
